Match Venue: The Friends Provident St Mary’s Stadium

Their victory in the FA Cup spilled over in the English top-tier football. With that, Southampton are enjoying an unbeaten three-match run starting off with their win over Burnley, another triumph at West Bromwich, and a thrilling stalemate with Sunderland. The Saints are currently in the top-tier table’s top half after accumulating 31 points from a W8-D7-L7 record.

In the Premier League, Mauricio Pochettino’s men have won five of their past 11 home matches; four went into deadlock; and the rest were defeats. They are relatively strong at home, earning the majority of their points when they played inside their own stadium. However, the presence of multiple losses also suggests that a home advantage is not a strong factor to guarantee conquest, especially if they are going up against clubs that have proven abilities on the road.

The current league leaders are spending a seventh consecutive week unbeaten (in all competitions). Of that belt, more than half went into clean sheets while only one finished in a draw. The side may be 12 goals short of their runners up (Manchester City) but they are ahead of them by a crucial one point, thanks to the 16 wins and three draws they obtained this season, thus far.

The Gunners’ outings this term were only marred by two defeats, both of which came from Manchester’s toughest clubs: United 1-0 and City 6-3. A lone draw was obtained from their face-off with West Bromwich 1-1, while the rest of the matches were soaring triumphs.

Online betting tip: Against a very solid Arsenal, Southampton will have to do extreme efforts to topple their opponents. They may obtain a few scoring chances, but the victory will ultimately go to the visitors.
