Premier League Match Preview: Everton vs. Stoke City

Updated: November 26, 2013

Match Date: 30 November 2013 (local)

Match Venue: Goodison Park

For five consecutive matches (most recent), Everton have been unbeaten. However, only two of those fixtures finished in victory, the rest were stalemates. Together with their achievements from day one, they already mustered 21 points to place them within the league table’s top seven.

Kone, Gibson, and Baines are all unable to participate in their team’s next fixture. Roberto Martínez, however, is not that overwhelmed by the aforesaid players’ absence.  They are indeed crucial parts of the ensemble, but The Toffees are incredibly packed with talented players who could suffice the skill requirements. They were defeated (by Manchester City) only once this season, and the lowly number is not expected to double (or triple) in their upcoming couple of battles.

Stoke City

Currently, Stoke City are only three points clear of the relegation zone. They are occupying the table’s 14th spot; a few more carelessness and they’ll find themselves in the bottom. Fortunately, the troop are somehow seeing hope in their otherwise confusing streak.

After eight weeks of winless matches, The Potters were finally able to put a break in their dull form after winning over Sunderland 2-0 at home last weekend. Charlie Adam opened the scoring for his team. Despite many chances Sunderland had, they failed to convert any equalizer. Steven N’Zonzi doubled the side’s lead in the 81st minute, cementing Stoke City’s victory in that fixture. Mark Hughes expects his men to perform more massively in their subsequent battles.

Football betting tip: Everton are currently seven notches above Stoke City in the league table, and a previous encounter also indicates the home side to be stronger than the visitors. In this tourney, a winning Everton should therefore be expected. Rooting for the side via 1.84 to 2.09 betting options could yield optimistic results.
