Football betting tipAfter the exit of Roberto Soldado, Valencia’s (Los Che) consistency will be put on a test now that Aly Cissokho is out on a 1-year loan and a confirmed signing in Liverpool. Right now, Andres Guardado will have to shoulder the responsibility of filling the left-back’s spot. Fortunately, this is still, far from being too much of a problem—not when they go against Espnayol.

Team form

Valencia is among the clubs that made an impressive start in the new season. Securing its first victory over another equally aggressive club, Malaga, Los Che managed to play past Malaga’s tough defence and score the deciding shot.  Thanks to Ricardo Costa’s 2nd half rally, the club just earned 3 points. And it was not only an ordinary win, Malaga, which took more shots and scoring opportunities, never clinched a single goal.

On the other hand, Espanyol seemed to suffer from a scoring problem when they enter the new season. Just a few notches away from relegation, the club was unable to score in 5 of its 6 matches last season. They may reverse the cycle when they face Celta Vigo, where they (Espanyol) are the chosen favorites. But there is a high possibility for Valencia to take advantage of such issue.

Valencia’s winning  possibility

Valencia’s last encounter clearly speaks of the club’s defence. Again, this is despite Cissokho’s absence on the pitch. Their ability to easily cope and adjust can be attributed to its strategic player acquisition last summer. Indeed, it lost Soldado, nevertheless, Miroslav Đukić knows that he still has Sergio Canales to do wonders for the club.

Similarly, it is possible for Los Che to keep another clean sheet in the match against Espanyol. From the previous season alone, the club kept a clean sheet in 5 out of its 6 matches.

The absence of its former reliable players, indeed, posits a threat to Valencia. Yet, in as far as their performance against Malaga is concerned, it looks like Los Che have no plans of throwing the white towel easily.
