Updated: July 30, 2013
Olympique Lyonnais

Their last match almost pinned them to victory, owning the first half of the tournament with a two-goal lead over Real Madrid. But Olympique Lyonnais lost their energy halfway the match, with Los Blancos figuring the same score in the closing 12 minutes, thus posting a 2-2 draw.
In a separate match, Grasshopper made an astonishing win over Aarau, 4-2, giving them a new addition to their Super League wins.
On July 31, Olympique Lyonnais and Grasshopper will have their turn to battle out one another. To fight over the the UEFA Champions League trophy, OL and GC will meet at the Stade de Gerland and flaunt their best maneuvers to bring home the esteemed distinction.
In addition to their draw match with Madrid, The Kids obtained the same decision in two other recent matches. Both Rémi Garde’s side and Pogoń Szczecin did not score even a single goal in their tourney, drawing the match in 0-0 final tally. Against New York RB, Olympique Lyonnais also ended up their match in a draw, 2-2. However, deadlocks do not always run as OL’s shadow. They did win twice in their five recent matches, which include one against Rennes 2-0, and another against Jeonbuk Motors 2-1.
Michael Skibbe’s players, meanwhile, seem to be having a satisfactory itinerary in their last few matches. The Grasshoppers’ three out of five tourneys were blissful conquests, putting out the fire of Lausanne Sport 4-1, St. Gallenm 0-2, and of course, Aarau 4-2 to ashes. They achieved two draws in the remaining matches (one against Basel 1-1) but one of which was eventually converted to defeat after a penalty decision (with Fortuna Düsseldorf 1-1).
It is quite difficult to determine which side will get into the winners’ throne. OL and GC have yet to prove their strengths to their supporters as they have never been into duel against each other. If the match won’t result in a draw, Olympique Lyonnais may hold all the aces.
