Another down the wire match will take place in Vicente Calderon as rival squads, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid battle their hearts out in Spain’s Super Cup. Will Atletico have its taste of revenge or will Real Madrid’s domination continue?

The contenders

Atletico Madrid

Amidst the departure of some of its key players, Diego Simeone is confident that the club will get its revenge against rival, Real Madrid.

Atletico will definitely rely on the strengths of its new poachers such as former Bayern Munich striker, Mario Mandzukic, Antoinne Griezmann and Raul Jimenez. Likewise, the squad will capitalize on the abilities of its Mario Suarez, Koke and Gabi when it comes to their defence.

Despite Real Madrid’s success in the UEFA Super Cup, this does not mean that Atletico is a push-over squad. They have proven it during the Champions League’s final. But in order to stay on top, they need to be more consistent and keep that fervor until the final whistle.  Atletico will have all the support they need since they will be playing at home and they should be able to capitalize on this inherent advantage.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid’s victory over Sevilla tends to give a preview of what the Los Blancos have to offer this season. Certainly, they are the clear favorites of online betting sites. Its good performance in the transfer market—the acquisitions of top caliber players such Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez added more grit and depth in the club.

But it is not only the new faces of Real Madrid that makes them a powerful squad in Europe. Clearly, its roster of veteran players with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Angel Di Maria, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema to name a few can indeed, generate tremor in the pitch.

Possible head turners

All eyes are set on the new faces that will grace both clubs. Many are waiting for Mandzukic to outshine Ronaldo. Meanwhile, Kroos and Rodriguez shall take the center of attraction from the Los Blancos’ side after reports of Bale and Pepe’s injury.
