Sevilla vs. Levante Preview: Sevilla’s Impressive Form Challenges Levante

Updated: January 23, 2014

Sevilla’s almost perfect form makes them an outright online betting favorite in the match against Levante. They have only won once in their previous encounters, but one can expect a different result this time around.

Match Date: 25 January 2014 (local time)

Venue: Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan

Team Form

Sevilla may have an undefeated record during their recent matches, but improvements are still a necessity for the club.

Within their last six (6) encounters, Sevilla has only managed to win three (3) of them while the rest ended in a stalemate. At a glance, the performance looks impressive. However, for a squad that aims to have a strong finish this season, a more consistent result is more acceptable. They cannot afford to settle for a satisfactory performance or they face the risk of being overcome by other ambitious clubs. This is most especially true nowadays as reports of their key players’ exit start to crop out.

Diego Perotti, for example, is said to leave Sevilla’s camp soon. Defender Cala is also said to exit the squad to go to Getafe where he allegedly sign a pre-contract. Fortunately, Ivan Rakitic chose to stay in the club.

But despite Rakitic’s decision, stories regarding the exit of valuable players may affect the club’s morale and their performance.

Forcing the mighty Barcelona to a draw and keeping three (3) clean sheets against Sevilla draw some dose of inspiration for Levante. They could use this as their motivation in order to score the much needed points and leave La Liga’s mid-table.

However, a closer look into their current form shows that they are the struggling side in the Sevilla match.  So far, they have only clinched two (2) victories and three (3) losses prevented them from moving higher in Spain’s top-flight league.

Neither the clean sheets guarantee a victory. Levante’s away performance is on the rocks, with four (4) of them ending in a disappointing defeat.

Online betting’s top pick: Sevilla

Sevilla has only won once during their previous encounters with Levante. However, since they are in a better shape than their opponents, they present a higher possibility of winning the match.
