Match Date: 28 September 2014 (local time)

Venue: Juventus Stadium

Torino’s  victory over Cagliari generated an air of confidence within Juventus Stadium as the squad improved its squad.

Prior to the said match, the club struggled after suffering 2 consecutive losses. The triumph against Cagliari was its first and hopefully, the winning streak shall continue as they go against Fiorentina.

The contenders

Torino showed pure class during their encounter against Cagliari. The latter took an early lead when Andrea Cossu netted a goal on the 11th. However, Kamil Glik immediately responded after 10 minutes. On the 29th minute, Fabio Quagliarella clinched the match’s winning goal.

Torino has been heavily criticized due to its struggling state after the departure of Ciro Immobile. However, its team manager, Giampiero Ventura, stressed that the club should accept the criticisms instead.

A scoreless stalemate characterized Fiorentina’s match against Sassuolo.

Nevertheless, its head honcho, Vicenzo Montella is taking the positives from the said encounter. Montella explained that the goals will come soon and the ability of preventing to concede a goal is far more important.

Fiorentina has been experiencing an overt goal drought, which seemed to prevent them from their planned rise in the top-flight league. Two (2) of its strikers, Mario Gomez and Giuseppe Rossi have been sidelined due to injury-related issues.

Possible head turners

Fiorentina’s defence against Sassuolo was impressive. The online betting favorite has readily prevented any scoring attempts, thanks to Marcos Alonso and Nenad Tomovic. But the Violas cannot be too complacent as Quagliarella is determined to prove his worth as a striker in Torino.
