Updated: October 16, 2014

Match Date: 19 October 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stadio Artemio Franchi

Tied at nine (9) points, discrepancies in the goal difference are the only things which separate Fiorentina and Lazio. Last week, both clubs clinched crucial victories, which resulted to their unprecedented rise in Italy’s top-flight league. As the two victors meet, it is hard not to expect a down the wire match between these equally aggressive and determined teams.

The contenders

Fiorentina hat-trick its way against a competitive Inter in their recent encounter. Khoma Babacar, Juan Guillermo Cuadrado and Nenad Tomovic scored the much needed goals and put an end to Fiorentina’s slow start this season. The said win was the club’s second victory after a few stalemates haltered their rise in the top-flight league.

Aside from the said win, the Violas can look forward to a better and brighter future as news of Mario Gomez’s fast recovery spread like fire.

Fiorentina currently occupies the 9th spot of Serie A, with 2 wins, 3 draws and a draw.

By the 35th minute, Lazio ensured that its match against the football betting minnow, Sassuolo was already over. Stefano Mauri and Filip Djordjevic installed a double during the early minutes of the match, whilst Antonio Candreva added more damage when he Lazio’s 3rd goal.

However, despite their unprecedented win, Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi almost threatened Lazio’s impending victory.

In their upcoming match though, Lazio shall be missing Lorik Cana, who incurred a red card during the Sassuolo face-off.

Possible head turner

Cuadrado readily stood out during Fiorentina’s recent match and there is a high possibility for the Columbian international to steal the spotlight again.
