Serie A Preview: Chievo vs. Parma

Updated: September 16, 2014

Match Date: 21 September 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi

Last week, Chievo caused a major upset against the online betting favorite, Napoli. Apparently, its narrow victory prevented the Partenopei from moving towards the top of the Serie A table.
Parma, however, tells a different story. The club experienced another loss, which pushed them into the rock bottom pit of the table.

The contenders

It cannot be denied that Chievo’s upset against Napoli was worthy of plaudits and recognition. The squad has successfully taken advantage of Gonzalo Higuain’s missed penalty and struck a goal on the 49th courtesy of Maxi Lopez.

Others may find the said victory as a product of mere luck. But then again, it is evident that if not for Chievo’s outstanding defence, Napoli could have easily scored an equalizer.

Despite the fact that Parna lost to AC Milan, what they have shown generates admiration. The match against the Rosonerris ended in AC Milan’s favor and with a final score of 4-5.
Indeed, it was Parma’s second consecutive loss. The squad has not won a single match in the past 2 weeks and is fast becoming a top relegation encounter. However, what they have shown against Milan was purely admirable.

Possible head turners

Once again, there is a possibility for Maxi Lopez to feature in the said match. As for Parma, Antonio Cassano is very much capable of leading the team’s scoring spree.
