Match Date: 31 August 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia

Hellas Verona featured last season when they clinched the 10th spot of Italy’s top-flight league. But with the exodus that occurred within the squad, many are questioning its capabilities to excel this time around.

The contenders

Atalanta was 4 points short of making it to Serie A’s top 10. But then again, the performance remains worthy of praise.

It may be a frustrating finish. Yet, clearly, such frustration will be the club’s main motivator in pushing itself to the limit in order to clinch a better spot.

So far, Atalanata has already secured promising names in the transfer market. These are Rolando Bianchi, Giuseppe Biava and Marco D’ Alessandro.

Hellas Verona

Hellas Verona did an impressive job last season when they finished as the 10th best club in the top-flight league. The newly-promoted squad almost made it to the Europa League qualifiers if not for the disappointing run towards the last leg of the tournament. Nevertheless, this barely dampened the support shown towards them. At the end of the day, Andrea Mandorlini did more than just securing the club’s survival.

As the new season opens, it is only fitting to expect for a much better finish. They did it before and definitely, there is no reason for them to falter now.
Due to Hellas Verona’s spectacular performance, many of its prominent players caught the attention of other clubs. It led to a sudden exodus. Nevertheless the replacements that have been brought in overflows with potential and skills.  One of them was El Tri’s renowned captain, Rafael Marquez.

Possible head turners

Verona’s Marquez is expected to add more experience in the squad. This could prevent them from suffering another near miss this season.
Relatively, the arrival of Marco D’ Alessandro—the Roma man who helped in Cesena’s promotion during his loan spell is also expected to feature in the said match.

What the odds say

Atalanta stands as the ultimate favorite of sports betting site, 12BET. The squad is valued to win at profitable odds of 2.16.
