AC Milan’s lackluster performance was the reason behind not qualifying for this season’s Champions League. Nevertheless, Filippo Inzaghi and his men are optimistic that they can bring back the club’s glorious days this season.

The contenders

AC Milan

A new coach and a new era, this is the current ambiance in San Siro at this moment. Many are optimistic that the club will soon find its way back on top of the top-flight league after a highly frustrating season.

Currently, many are expecting Filippo Inzaghi to help the squad get back to its feet. Milan just had a lackluster performance in the International Champions Cup where winning became too elusive. While others consider this as a prelude to the performance of the former Serie A giants, there are others, who remain optimistic in the squad’s future. Many are also eager to know how the Rossonerris will fare during the absence of Mario Balotelli.

Balotelli opted to exit the club and play for Liverpool instead.

Lazio

Lazio is keen on improving their previous performance last season. The squad clinched the 9th spot of the top-flight league, which was a far-flung shot of what they accomplished before.

The retirement of World Cup record holder, Miroslav Klose from international duties, brings new hope to the club and its ambition to have a stronger finish. This meant that the talismanic striker has less worries to attend to, most especially now that the Euro qualifiers is about to start.

Possible head turners

It has been a while since Stephan El Shaarawy was seen wearing the Milan jersey and many of his supporters are waiting for him to show his antics on the pitch.  Meanwhile, Liverpool’s Fabio Borini will be gracing San Siro soon. Borini was one of the key figures that saved Sunderland from relegation last season. Milan supporters will definitely rely on Borini in helping the club recover.

What the odds say

Milan is valued to win at  2.07 in the sports betting site, 12BET. Going for Lazio is also profitable. Odds pegged for Lazio are valued at 3.75.
