Match Preview: Chievo vs. Atalanta

Match Date: 05 October 2013 (local time)

Venue: Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi

Despite having the upper hand in majority of their matches, Chievo cannot be too confident when they meet Atalanta.

Indeed, the Yellow Blues know how to make Atalanta stumble. The former has dominated their past encounters and definitely, the club hopes that their upcoming clash is not an exemption. The match shall be held in their own ground where they are the strongest. Nevertheless, they must first secure that their current form is ready to take a hard tackle.

Unlike Chievo, Atalanta sits comfortably in the 13th spot. So far, the club has already secured 2 victories. The recent one is against Udinese, which is perceived to be a better and stronger club. They dominated the possession in their last match, converted and kept a clean sheet. Should the squad continues to play in such manner, there is a possibility for them to facilitate a major upset.

The Verdict: Chievo 1:0 Atalanta

Despite Chievo’s current form, the club still, has the possibility of emerging as match victors. However, one should expect a close encounter.

The Yellow Blues play strong when they are in their own territory. As for Atalanta, their away performances hardly manifest a strong club. Five (5) of their last away matches ended in defeat. Aside from that, the defeats saw them conceding 2 goals—a glaring manifestation of a collapsing defence, Definitely, the Nerazzurris shall pull off a close encounter. But the Yellow Blues have already prepared for the match-up, thus, making them a sports betting site heavy favorite.

Match Preview: Catania vs. Genoa

Match Date: 06 October 2013 (local time)

Venue: Stadio Angelo Massimino

After keeping a clean sheet against Chievo, Catania has the opportunity to improve its rank in Serie A. Pitted against Genoa, the club looks forward to outlasting its upcoming rival in Italy’s top-flight league.

Despite the considerable number of shots taken by their opponents, it was Catania, which dominated the scoreboard and took advantage of whatever scoring opportunity comes along its way.

Meanwhile, what happened to Catania was a total opposite of what Genoa has to endure in its most recent match. The strong Napoli kept Genoa at bay and prevented them from scoring. As a matter of fact, the encounter ended with a 2-0 win over their rivals. The said defeat was the 4th for Genoa.

The Verdict: Catania 1-0 Genoa

Although Genoa has the higher rank in the table, Catania remains to be the sports betting odds  favorites.

Catania has managed to keep a clean sheet during its last 6 matches. Due to this, there is a strong possibility for  the club to employ a similar strategy to Genoa. Should they choose to go for this approach, they further increase their winning chances as Genoa has failed to score in 7 of their last 9 matches.

Although they have a similar record, another reason for choosing Catania as the stronger club, stems from the fact that Genoa has only won twice over them. Its last 6 encounters saw Catania dominate the win-loss scoreboard. Given this situation at hand, indeed, there is no denying of the fact that Catania will most likely emerge as the victorious one.

As for Torino, the club enjoys the 10th spot in Serie A. It has 2 victories under its belt and a well-balanced distribution of losses and draws. They may have lost to Juventus ibn their most recent match, But then again, to limit the league’s A List club to a single goal is already a rewarding experience for them.

With the way things go for Sampdoria, clinching a victory against Torino proves to be a futile effort. Torino is currently the 10th best team of the league whereas Sampdoria occupies the 19th spot.
