Juve and Roma

Match Date: 11 May 2014 (local time)

Venue:  Stadio Olimpico

The capital club’s defeat to the relegated Catania resulted to their disappointing loss in the title race and eventually, paved way for Juventus to clinch its 3rd consecutive Scudetto. With Juventus’ success in defending its title, the upcoming match is no more than Roma’s poor attempt in imposing its superiority against the newly crowned champion.

Roma’s team captain, Francesco Totti, the club will try to put up a “good show” for their fans during their awaited encounter against Juventus. Although filled with optimism, the squad’s leader did not try to hide his disappointment over losing the Scudetto.

He shared that the outcome of each and every match depends on how players perform inside the pitch. Despite the coach’s great tactical scheme if the players are not strategically aligned with the coach’s ambitions, it will not produce good results.

Unfortunately, the above-mentioned situation readily reflected the result of Catania and Roma’s match. During their encounter, the rock bottom club already dominated the match. Mariano Izco scored 2 consecutive goals, whilst from Roma’s side, it was only Totti who has managed to respond. However, Catania’s Gonzalo Bergessio scored once again for Catania until Pablo Barrientos placed the final nail in Roma’s coffin.

Roma may exploit its home court advantage against Juve. The club has been pretty strong at Stadio Olimpico, winning 10 out of its 11 recent matches and scoring an average of 2 goals. As for Juve’s case, the match’s outcome barely matters. After all, whether it is a loss, a win or a draw, Juventus remains as the online betting favourite— the king of Serie A.
