Serie A Match Preview: Internazionale vs. Bolgona

Updated: April 1, 2014
Internazionale Milano and Bologna FC

Match Date: 06 April 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stadio Giuseppe Meazza

Inter’s head honcho, Walter Mazzarri emphasized the need to have a different “mentality” in order to have a strong finish in Serie A. He implied that one of the things that differentiates “champions from normal players” is the way they think.

Mazarri’s piece of advice stemmed from the fact that his side was forced to settle for a draw against Livoro. He rued at how the club “subconsciously thought” that their job was already done after scoring 2 goals during the early stages of the match. However, a resilient Livorno made a strong rally at the 2nd half and forced a stalemate. Indeed, the match was a game of two halves.

It is easy to understand Mazzarri’s sentiments. The result of the above-mentioned match places their Europa League qualification at stake. Right now, they are in a vulnerable state as  their lead has been cut down to a single point. Aspiring clubs such as Parma can easily outrank and topple them instantly. When it happens, all their efforts and hard work shall all go into waste.

Given this aspect at hand, one can only expect Inter to capitalize on their strong home form when they face the struggling Bologna. It has been undefeated in its last 11 home matches.

Bologna, on the other hand, is having problems with it away form. Nine (9) of its last 1-0 away matches ended in defeat. It has also failed to score in 8 of them.

Technically speaking, Bologna is a no match against Inter. It is evident that the latter is the match’s online betting favorite. However, if they remained stuck on their mediocre mentality, they might find themselves struggling behind Bologna.

Prediction:  Inter
