AS Roma

Match Date: 1 May 2014 (local time)

Venue: Comunale Luigi Ferraris

The capital club’s top brass, Rudi Garcia stressed that AS Roma’s narrow defeat to Juventus barely overshadows their top-notch performance this season. The Giallorossi looks forward to going against Genoa as they capped off the season with a bang.

Garcia’s above-mentioned statement is far from being an illusion. Indeed, AS Roma is the most improved club in Serie A. From the 6th spot last season, the club will end its journey as the top-flight league’s runner-up, title contender and a spot in the Champions League.

Going against Genoa will hardly give them a headache due to their overt advantage in the match. While it is true that the loss was its second consecutive defeat, the squad has nonetheless accumulated 4 well-deserved victories. This is in stark contrast to the current form of their upcoming opponent, Genoa.

Genoa, for obvious reasons is far from being the match’s online betting favorite. The club has been unsuccessful in its last 7 matches. It thrives through draws—which, have somehow, prevented them to experience a downward spiral.

Similar to the capital club, Genoa also went through a disappointing defeat last weekend. The squad surrendered to Sassuolo. Fortunately, the loss did not cause them to drop into the rock bottom part of the Serie A table.

Genoa is already safe from the relegation zone and despite the defeat, Gian Piero Gasperini is readily satisfied. The club has survived a season and will maintain its Serie A status.
