Atalanta and Genoa

Match Date: 27 April 2014 (local time)

Venue: Atleti Azzurri d’Italia

Atalanta and Genoa are in search of a potent antidote to counter their successive defeats, which resulted to their heartbreaking slip in the top-flight league table.

Between the two, it was Genoa, which feels the pressure the most. The loss to Cagliari marked its 4th consecutive loss in its last 6 matches. Its head honcho, Gian Piero Gasperini cannot help but express his disappointment over the club’s lackluster performance. He stressed that the team’s lack of focus permitted them to concede 2 goals and “end a great season in poor fashion.”  Aside from failing to impress, perhaps what made Gasperini even more disappointed was the fact that they have been conceding an average of 2 goals in all of the matches they lost.

On the other hand, Atalanta shares almost the same fate as that of Genoa. As mentioned, the former is also suffering from back-to-back defeats.

Its team form, however, is slightly better than that of the Rossoblus. Despite the 3 consecutive defeats, they have 3 consecutive victories to brag about. But this does not mean that Steafano Colantuono tolerates their present situation.

Like any manager going through a difficult phase, the losses also disappointed him. He mentioned that fatigue has already taken a toll into his side.

Atalanta’s recent defeat resulted to a downward move in the table. The club dropped to the 11th spot.

But regardless of the loss, it is evident that Atalanta remains as the top pick of sports betting sites. Again, its form and rank earn them the credits to be hailed as heavy favorite of the match.
