Reims vs. Toulouse Prediction: Reims And Toulouse Settle For A Draw

Updated: October 10, 2013

Match Date: 18 October 2013 (local time)

Venue: Stade Auguste Delaune II

Reims wants to put an end to its 6 consecutive draws while Toulouse is keen on snatching another victory. As both squads refuse to settle for second best, only a draw can resolve their rivalry.

Team Form

Failing to maintain their lead, Hubert Fournier and his men had to settle for a draw against Valenciennes.

While it is true that a glitter of hope shone through the Valenciennes camp, this is not the case for Reims. The latter has been struggling to secure another victory and the result of last week’s encounter was their 5th straight draw. Although their current form are still, acceptable or at the very least, tolerable, a draw barely adds extra points to the club. These are not enough to catapult their rank in the league. To note, Reims have already accumulated 6 draws, a loss and 2 victories.

Despite the relegation buffer that draws give to the club, Reims has no other option but to secure its 3rd victory against Toulouse. The stakes are high and there is no doubt that the road is a lot rougher than Valenciennes.  Diego, Christopher Glombard, Gaetan Courtet and Franck Signorino are still, not on their 100%.  There is a slim chance that these players will be entering the pitch soon. Meanwhile, Atila Turan is less likely to play due to a suspension that he needs to serve.

Toulouse turned the odds into their favor when they had the final say in the match against Nice.

Capitalizing on their opponent’s individual errors, the club kept Nice at bay. As if it was a premonition of what is about to take place, Wissam Ben Yedder fired the perfect shot. Nice, on the other hand, never had the chance to show off their counter attacking skills.

The above-mentioned victory pushed Toulouse on the 12th spot, with 3 losses, 3 wins and 3 draws apiece.

Football betting tip: Reims 1-1 Toulouse

Tied at 12 points, but separated by goal difference, there is a high possibility for the match to end in a stalemate. Reims wants to end its penchant for draws, while Toulouse wants to continue their winning streak. With both teams willing to fight tooth and nail, a hard fought draw can be expected from the match.
