Match Date: 26 October 2014 (local time)

Venue: White Hart Lane

Suffering from heavy blows, both Tottenham and Newcastle United are in dire need of a victory.

The contenders

Tottenham had to endure a 4-1 thrashing from the football betting favorite and strong title contender, Manchester City in their previous meeting. The club failed in stopping a rampaging Sergio Aguero as they struggled to get their 4th victory this season.

Despite the strong start and renewed hopes of returning to the Premier League elite, Tottenham’s seemingly impressive start began to retrogress. The result of their Manchester City face-off simply highlighted the club’s inconsistent performance. So far, it has only won once in their last six (6) matches.

It was only through draws that the club is able to add collect points and (temporarily) veer away from the rock bottom part of the table.

Newcastle United

Already on the relegation zone, Newcastle United has finally snatched its first victory since the season started.

For quite some time now, the club has been sitting in the hot seat after a series of lackluster performances. Similar to Tottenham, stalemates were the only thing that kept Newcastle alive. But with a renewed confidence to boot, the squad expects a better and brighter future.

Possible head turners

Christian Eriksen could cause pain to the hopeful visitor. Eriksen will most likely have a repeat of his previous display to ensure that Tottenham improves its current ranl.
