Premier League Preview: Swansea vs. Newcastle United

Updated: October 3, 2014

Match Date: 04 October 2014 (local time)

Venue: Liberty Stadium

A (thick-skinned) Allan Pardew visits Liberty Stadium in an attempt to revive Newcastle’s hopes of maintaining its Premier League status. The squad remains winless since the season started and has become relegation favorites of football betting pundits.

The contenders

Winless in its last 3 recent matches, Swansea hopes to return to winning ways at home. An air of disappointment lingers in Swansea’s camp when they were forced to settle for an even steven finish by Sunderland.

Due to this, the club was stuck on the 5th spot of the Premier League table. The  Swans could have secured a higher rank, but unfortunately, the odds did not go into their favor.

Newcastle United

Pardew admitted that he is a thick-skinned manager that can withstand criticisms from Newcastle supporters.

Newcastle’s slow start has turned the club into a relegation candidate, which currently thrives through stalemates.
As mentioned, the club has not won a single match since the season started. Going against Swansea gives them the chance to seek redemption. Yet, considering its previous performances, it seems that victory will remain elusive for the Magpies.

Possible head turners

The upcoming match is the perfect opportunity for Remy Cabella and Emmanuel Riviere to have another spectacular display. One can also expect a down the wire match between the club as they try to outlast and outwit each other.
