Premier League Preview: Sunderland vs. Tottenham Hotspurs

Updated: September 3, 2014

Match Date: 13 September 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stadium of Light

Tottenham’s rise to the top was partly halted when Liverpool kept them at bay and thrashed them with 3 massive goals.  Keen on strengthening its season campaign, the squad will try to snatch some points during its upcoming match against a resilient Sunderland.

The contenders

Sunderland experienced its first defeat for the season into the hands of Queens Park Rangers. Although it is still too early to predict Sunderland’s relegation possibilities, it cannot be denied that the said loss could be the unholy trigger that the Black Cats try to avoid.

Sunderland has not won a single match and thrived through draws. It is far from being impressive, but it is definitely better than what they had last season when they flirted in the relegation zone.

Tottenham Hotspurs

After a strong start, Mauricio Pochettino and his men stumbled into Liverpool’s hands. It seemed that the squad was unprepared with the Reds’ relentless attacks.

Fortunately, Tottenham secured a 4-0 victory against Queen Park Rangers prior to its Liverpool face-off. The said win has successfully kept them on the high ranks of the Premier League table.

Possible head turners

Both Connnor Wickham and Emmanuel Adebayor had several goal scoring opportunities in their previous match. But they need to be more clinical in order to help their squad snatch the upper hand in the upcoming game.

What the odds say

Sports betting sites such as 12BET heavily favor Tottenham. The latter is valued to win at a profitable odd of 2.04.
