Match Date: 04 October 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stadium of Light

Once again, the Black Cats found themselves a notch above the relegation zone and it seems like Gus Poyet is running out of ideas. Nevertheless, they are still fortunate enough to have plenty of time to rectify their mistakes and move away from the bottom part of the table.

The contenders

Sunderland remains devoid of a win since the season started. So far, it is through stalemates that they were able to survive and somehow, avoid hitting the relegation zone.
Considering their unsatisfactory performance, it is easy for supporters to turn their back against the squad. But this is not the case for Sunderland as its followers remain faithful.

In terms of injuries, the club will be missing the services of Sebastian Coates. Likewise, there is no assurance that Wes Brown will make it to the pitch.

Stoke has been pretty successful in their away games this season. This achievement continues to inspire the club in continuing their undefeated streak.

The Potters currently occupies the 11th spot of the Premier League table and shows no signs of slowing down in their face off against the online betting favorite, Sunderland.

Unfortunately, it is still uncertain if Mame Biram Diouf will make it to the match due to injury concerns.

Possible head turners

Sebastian Larsson will continue to be the unstoppable playmaker of the Black Cats. But the team needs to be more clinical should they want to capitalize from Larsson’s efforts.
