Updated: September 24, 2014

Match Date: 29 September 2014 (local time)

Venue: Britannia Stadium

Winless and currently sitting at the rock bottom pit of the Premier League table, Newcastle United is in dire need of securing a victory in their upcoming match. Losing to the online betting favorite, Stoke or settling for a draw will make survival a difficult feat. The squad cannot afford to be a top relegation contender. Pitted against Stoke, there is no guarantee though that they shall have the upper-hand. Yet, they must try or suffer the consequences of another defeat.

The contenders

Stoke’s even steven finish with Queen Park Rangers (QPR) resulted in an increase of their Premier League rank. But despite such result, there is an air of disappointment lurking within Stoke’s camp as they could have ranked better if they snatched a win.

The club had total control of the match. Unfortunately, Niko Kranjcar netted a goal on the 88th, which paved way for QPR to equalize.

Newcastle United

Newcastle United is in big trouble. As mentioned, the squad is at the rock bottom pit of the table right now. Its situation could have been worse if not for Papiss Demba Cisse’s determination

Cisse nailed a double to ensure that the club veers away from defeat and settle for a stalemate instead.

Possible head turners

Expect another stellar performance from Cisse as he tries to help the squad survive its difficult ordeal. However, the possibility yet another draw is high since Stoke is less likely to wave the white flag in its own ground.
