Premier League Preview: Manchester United vs. Everton

Updated: October 3, 2014

Match Date: 05 October 2014 (local time)

Venue: Old Trafford

An old rivalry is revived when Manchester United meets Everton this weekend. Last season, the Red Devils had a difficult time snatching a win against Roberto Martinez and his men. Can United force a reversal of roles?

The contenders

Manchester United

Without an international competition to attend to, the match against Everton should be a piece of cake for the host. The well-deserved win against West Ham should have given them a renewed sense of confidence that is further fueled by the depth of their team form.

The presence of top-class players such as Angel di Maria, Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao should make things easy for the online betting favorite. Unfortunately, the squad shall be missing Wayne Rooney’s presence, who got a booking during the West Ham clash.

Since the season started, Everton has only won once. Many of its matches resulted in an even steven finish and this explains why they are on the 15th spot of the table. Just recently, the squad earned a draw against Liverpool. Back in the Champions League, its match against FC Krasnodar also ended in a stalemate.

But despite its seemingly lackluster performance, Everton’s only consolation was the fact that United failed to beat them last season.

Possible head turners

It has been reported that United agreed to Radamel Falcao’s personal terms to secure his permanent move this summer. Due to this, many are expecting the deadly striker to prove his worth in the club.
