Premier League Preview: Liverpool vs. West Brom

Updated: October 3, 2014

Match Date: 04 October 2014 (local time)

Venue: Anfield

Liverpool’s shaky start readily compels the club to stick to a (no-loss) policy literally. From a certified title contender last season, the Reds have slowly acquired a relegation-prone reputation, much to the disappointment of many.

Pitted against West Brom, Liverpool remains a heavy favorite of online betting sites despite its lackluster performances.

The contenders

Recovering from a bad start is not the only issue that heavily concerns Liverpool. The squad also experiences difficulties in balancing its domestic and international duties. Back in the Premier League, the club struggles to return to the elite spot. And just recently, the Reds had to deal with a narrow defeat against Basel in the Europa League. Injury concerns are also plaguing the club. Several of its key players are doubtful in their upcoming match against West Brom. Emre Can, Mamadou Sakho and Daniel Sturridge, to name a few might not make it to the pitch this weekend.

West Brom

The Baggies just secured its second consecutive win this season. A close fight against Tottenham, in which they emerged as the victorious party and a massive thrashing of the newly-promoted Burnley readily inspires the squad to continue its impressive performance.
Due to the said triumphs, they propelled West Brom’s rank into the mid-table.  It is less likely for the Baggies to wave the white flag easily in the upcoming clash.

Possible head turners

Aside from a down the wire match, one should also expect a battle of midfielders. Watch out as Raheem Sterling and James Morrison try to outlast each other.
