Match Date: 19 October 2013 (local)

Match Venue: The Boleyn Ground, Upton Park, London

West Ham United

Dignified with their recent win over Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United redeemed themselves from their defeat in their match against Hull City. However, with just six goals shipped from seven matches, the side still cannot settle on their current but fleeting success. There is still so much to overcome and with Manchester City on their way to visit The Hammers’ stadium, the pressure is just piling up. Sam Allardyce’s men are currently ranked in the table’s 13th spot, which is three places lower than their overall placement last season. In addition, forward Andy Carroll and midfielder Alou Diarra are out due to injury.

Manchester City

Last season’s runners up were bitterly defeated by Bayern Munich in the Champions League, which would count as their second consecutive defeat after being thrashed by Aston Villa in the domestic league. The rage in the downfalls, perhaps, propelled Manchester City to do better in their next fight. And so they did after they assaulted Everton in a 3-1 home victory. The match started quite meek for The Citizens, after Everton’s Lukaku opened the scoring. However, past the 17th minute, the side have started rallying unstoppably until the tourney closed with them bagging three goals. Current rankings place Manuel Pellegrini’s men at number five; indicative that the side have to exert paramount effort to repeat (or surpass) their success last season.

Online betting tip:  West Ham United have never been able to win over Manchester City in their last six meetings. While a few draws may have been scored, the majority of the clashes favored The Citizens. In this upcoming battle, the trend might still follow the same route. Manchester City will take advantage of this fixture to reap their fifth triumph this season.
