Match Date: 23 March 2014 (local time)

Venue: White Hart Lane

Tottenham failed to snatch 3 important points after surrendering to their local rival, Arsenal, in a highly anticipated North London derby. Tim Sherwood and his men succumbed to a narrow defeat after Tomas Rosicky’s wonder goal destroyed them.

Despite the loss, Sherwood stressed that he needs “patience” to succeed in the club and hinted that reconstructing the squad should begin at the pre-season. He also argued that even if they lost, they were still the better side and implied that Arsenal was merely lucky.

Tottenham ranks better than Southampton. They are also ahead by 8 points, which male them an outright sports betting favorite in the match. In 12BET, a profitable 2.21 was given in their favor. Unfortunately, the club was unable to score in their last 3 home matches and therefore makes under 2.5 at 1.79, a lucrative choice.

Meanwhile, Southampton’s fate is a bit different from what the Spurs had to endure last weekend.

Southampton dragged the struggling Norwich to loser’s lane when they successfully netted 4 goals. Likewise, it was the weekend’s win, which enabled them to catapult their rank to the 8th spot of the Premier League table.

Although they are the least favorite, Southampton is very much capable of forcing a down the wire match that could help them secure a victory.
