An intense and fierce battle is about to set ablaze between Sunderland and Cardiff. These clubs have been trying to escape the relegation zone and with their astounding performances during the previous weeks, the possibility of retaining their Premier League status remains high.


Sitting on the 18th spot of the table and partially enjoying a 1-point lead against Sunderland, Cardiff’s hopes of staying alive was ignited when they scored a crucial victory against Southampton. The momentum continued when they forced Stoke to an even steven finish. After earning a point, Cardiff’s desire to survive became even stronger. Expect Cala, their Southampton hero and Peter Whittingham, their fearless defender against Stoke, to feature in the said match.


Meanwhile, if Cardiff is that keen on surviving and so is Sunderland. A few weeks ago, top brass, Gus Poyet was already discussing his plans for the Championship. However, in a sudden twist of fate, the Black Cats stepped up to the challenge and caused upset and stirs.


Manchester City was its first victim. The Citizens have to unleash a late rally in order to counter Connor Wickham’s 2 consecutive goals. Next in line was the title contender, Chelsea. Jose Mourinho and his men could only look at the score cards and see Fabio Borini convert the penalty that dimmed their hopes for this year’s silverware.


With the possibility of retaining their Premier League status at stake, it is hard not to imagine Whittingham and Borini throwing out a lackluster performance in the upcoming match.


Prediction: Stalemate

Both clubs deserve to be fill in the online betting’s favorite shoes due to their impressive performances. But when survival instincts enter the picture, there is indeed, a strong possibility for the two to settle for a stalemate instead of handing over 3 points easily.
