Match Date: 12 April 2014 (local time)

Venue: Britannia Stadium

An encounter of the “opposites” is about to take place at Britannia Stadium as Newcastle United attempts to end its 3-match losing streak when they go against Stoke City. The host, on the other hand, will try to recover from the Chelsea defeat, which ended their 5-match winning streak.

Unfortunately, Stoke was unable to maintain its “Arsenal effect” when it faced Chelsea. The latter, which was also seeking for redemption after a shocking loss to Crystal Palace, unleashed its fury against them when it scored 3 goals. This time around, the renewed confidence it had when it destroyed Arsenal, did not manifest against Jose Mourinho’s men.

Nevertheless, the loss does not mean that Stoke is stripped off of the right to be the favorite of sports betting sites. As a matter of fact, it is the top pick despite Newcastle United’s 6-point lead.

Newcastle’s loss of popularity can be attributed to its declining performance. During  its last 3 matches, it has also conceded an average of 3 goals. Clearly, this speaks of its poor defence.

Likewise, it must be noted it has not won a match during its last 5 encounters. Such situation meant more troubles for the club for it will be taking the visitor’s role in Britannia Stadium.

So far, the Magpies have only won twice in its last 6 English Premier League matches. However, as a means of consolation, the club is still in the league’s top 10 and is assured of surviving the current season.

Prediction: Stoke City
