Match Date: 22 March 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stamford Bridge

Despite the shocking loss to Aston Villa, Chelsea remains as the top favorite of online bookies. The club thrives on a 4-point lead against the Gunners, which is one of their strongest title rivals.

Chelsea brags an impressive form. The defeat to Aston Villa was their first within their last 6 matches. Aside from that, it cannot be denied that they are close to being invincible when playing at Stamford Bridge.

To note, they were unbeaten in their last 24 battles at home. As a matter of fact, 4 of them—to be more specific, the encounters against West Ham, Newcastle United, Tottenham and Everton ended in a clean sheet. Nevertheless, the club’s head honcho, Jose Mourinho, claims that their current lead is fake. He stressed that the club participates in a “match race,” instead of a “title race” as this is the kind of approach that they observe in the club.

As for Arsenal’s case, the results of their previous performances were far from the squad, which has dominated the Premier League for quite some time. A series of unfortunate events saw Liverpool overtake them in the ranking.

The Gunners, however, may take advantage with the absence of Willian and Ramires, who were previously booted out of the pitch after incurring a red card during the controversial Aston Villa encounter. They may also exploit on the possibility that fatigue may soon set in at Chelsea’s side as they also have Champion League duties to attend to.

Prediction: Chelsea

Within their last 6 encounters, Arsenal has only won once against Chelsea. The Blues are therefore pitted to win at 1.98 with a 0.5 Asian handicap given to Arsenal.
