An own goal from the club’s team captain, Thiago Silva prevented Paris Saint Germain (PSG) to extend their lead over title contender, AS Monaco. Nevertheless, despite the disappointing even steven finish, PSG remains a strong force in the pitch.

In just eight (8) minutes after the match started, Javier Pastore already took the lead for the incumbent champ. But just when they thought that they have everything under control, Silva’s own goal granted their opponents the opportunity to bounce back.

Technically speaking, Monaco, indeed, has a chance of stealing the title. Yet, this is only possible if inconsistency seeps into PSG’s camp. But not until a series of losing streak plagues the club, AS Monaco has to be content with the Champions League appearance.

PSG’s current form is a strong one. They were undefeated in twenty-four (24) of their home matches. In nine (9) of them, they have an average score of two (2) goals. Moreover, they have also managed to keep a clean sheet in seven (7) of their most recent encounters at Parc des Princes.

With the narrow win against Nice, Valenciennes survival for the next season looks plausible. But this is without going through some difficulties. They must stand strong against their upcoming rivals and one of them is PSG.

Technically speaking, Valenciennes’ possibility of winning over the incumbent champ is a bit slim. They sport a competitive form, having lost only twice in their last six (6) matches. But the most pressing issue they need to confront is whether their squad has enough depth to battle it out against the league leader and unfortunately, it is the area where they readily lack.

Prediction:  Paris Saint Germain

PSG is determined to clinch another title this season and with the disappointing draw against Monaco, there is a high possibility for them to unleash the scoring beast that they are on the pitch.
