Nice vs. Marseille Prediction: Both Clubs Foresee A Deadlock

Updated: October 10, 2013

Match Date: 18 October 2013 (local time)

Venue: Allianz Arena

Determined to recover from their unexpected and heartbreaking defeats, neither Nice nor Marseille has plans of backing off. Only a deadlock proves to be a plausible solution for both clubs.

Team Form

Unable to dominate possession and therefore allowing Toulouse to capitalize on it, Nice suffered a 1-0 defeat against their opponents.

Wissam Ben Yedder’s 34th minute goal sealed Nice fate during the encounter. The assumed stronger squad was kept at bay and dropped down to Ligue 1’s 5th spot. Although they still have a satisfactory form compared to other clubs, they cannot afford to lose another match. Otherwise, this will open opportunities for their rivals to climb higher into the ranking while they slowly slip into the bottom pit.
Claude Puel will need to be more creative in its starting XI as the club apparently missed the services of Mahamane Traoré, Valentin Eysseric and Éric Bautheac. Contingency plans should be made should the three or one of them fails to make it during the Marseille match.

Marseille suffered a heartbreaking loss after Zlatan Ibrahimovic converted a penalty, which propelled the 10-man Paris Saint Germain on top.

Despite dominating the possession and with Thiago Motta acquiring an early red card, Marseille’s untimely errors prevented them from capitalizing on the great opportunity that was laid out before them.

The seemingly devastating loss was the 2nd for Marseille. Though this is nothing but ordinary, a chance to move farther was wasted.

In the upcoming match against Nice, Élie Baup needs to adjust even more and rectify the lapses of the previous game. Andre-Pierre Gignac and Jeremy Morel are still unsure of making it back to the pitch. Dimitri Payet will be joining them to serve his suspension.

Football betting tip: Nice 1-1 Marseille

Despite their losses, both squads are still, strong forces in the pitch. Neither of the team will throw the white towel since their ranking are at stake.

Expect this match to be a close fight, filled with breathtaking action and clashes in the pitch.
