A visit to Juventus Stadium caused havoc in Napoli’s Serie A rank. Unwilling to surrender in their own ground, the incumbent champ, Juve trounced on Partenopei as they emerged victorious in the highly anticipated match.

Napoli had a double whammy. Not only did Juventus scored three (3) goals, they also kept a clean sheet which pushed Rafael Benitez’s camp to the 3rd spot of the table. It was Napoli’s second defeat this season and it came in an untimely fashion. As the competition gets tougher every week and with the trio (Napoli, Juventus and AS Roma) aiming for the scudetto, the chances of taking the upper hand gets slimmer. But this does not necessarily mean that the Partenopei are already out of the competition. They are still one of the strongest forces in the pitch.

However, the defeat meant that they would have to fight tooth and nail to ensure every victory and indeed, they have better chances of making a strong finish when they face Parma. They average for at least 2 goals in 10 of their last 11 home matches and have been dominant during the half and full time. Apparently, there is no reason for the club to surrender their white flag to Parma.

It seemed that Parma was back to their winning ways when they stole the spotlight from the struggling Rosssoneri. However, this was immediately followed by 2 consecutive defeats courtesy of Genoa and Juventus. With the draw against Lazio, Parma presented a squad that is trying to start all over again.

Parma has been paying dearly for their inconsistent performance. It has prevented them from moving higher into the Serie A table. It also makes them a potential candidate in the relegation zone should they fail to man up in the pitch.

The upcoming match against Napoli is a crucial one since their chances of winning are not that high. If they were able to capitalize on the Lazio encounter, they could have created a safety cushion from other clubs, which, like them are also keen on climbing a higher rank. Unfortunately, they are now facing the risk of spiraling downward, though they still have a better form compared to their opponents.

With 2 wins, 3 losses and a draw, they can still recover. Yet, the bigger question is how long will it take them to recover?

Football  betting tip : Napoli 3-1 Parma

Parma has only won once in their last 6 matches against Napoli and with the determination of Rafael Benitez’s squad to be one of the biggest scudetto contenders, Parma’s chances of clinching a victory decreases.
