Despite having their team captain suspended for half a year, this will do little impact to Lazio’s performance against Udinese.

Stefano Mauri was reportedly involved in a game-fixing match between Lazio and Genoa and so is between Lazio and Lecce, which lead to his suspension. Although this can affect the club’s morale, Biancocelesti has no reasons to throw the white towel easily.

Udinese fared a little bit better last season. The Zebrettes made it to the table’s top 5. But neither did Lazio gave a lackluster performance. Although it occupied the 7th spot, it nonetheless, won the coveted Coppa Italia silverware and it is safe to say that the club, still, has the momentum.

Yet, a momentum is merely temporary and Udinese is in a position to steal the spotlight easily. However, a closer look at the previous clashes of the two speaks of Lazio’s edge. During their first encounter, Lazio thrashed Udinese with a 3-0 victory. The Zebrettes got even though. It snatched a 1-0 victory. However, knowing that the latter had a history of conceding 3 goals, is a bit alarming.

It is also worthy to mention that Biancocelesti never lost in its most recent friendlies. It scored 3 goals against Spezia; made Nice trail by a point and forced a draw against Panathinaikos. Unfortunately for Udinese, it was a different story. Against Bayer Leverkusen, it lost by 3, won by 2 goals against Queens Park Rangers, but was thrashed again by Atalanta. In its most recent defeat, Atalanta scored 5.
Should Udinese continues playing that way, they might find themselves waving the white flag. Thus, for those who bet online and supporters alike, going for Lazio proves to be a much better wager.
