Roma will try to keep a perfect record as Udinese threatens to be the first club to defeat them. Meanwhile, Lazio is keen on winning against Cagliari despite the tough Europa League match that it needs to overcome prior to the weekend encounter.

Udinese vs. Roma Match Preview

Match Date: 27 October 2013 (local time)

Venue: Stadio Communale Friuli

Team Form

Either Udinese ends up in Roma’s list of defeated clubs or they can be the first club to score triumphantly against the league leaders—these are the two critical situations that Udinese faces in their upcoming match.

Francesco Guidolin and his boys just suffered a frustrating loss to AC Milan. Amidst the absence of their key players, the Rosoneris were able to maintain their lead and even kept a clean sheet. Indeed, it was a disappointing sight considering the fact that they could have easily leapfrog in the Serie A table if they have only won.

Nevertheless, Guidolin is aware that they can no longer afford to lose when they meet Roma. Aware of their opponent’s superior “technical” skills, the club’s big boss call for an improvement from his boys.

Last season, Udinese ended up on the 5th spot. So far, their performance is not even at par to what they have accomplished.  With losses outnumbering their victories, the club has to settle for the 11th spot (temporarily). The outcome can vary. If they win, they enter Serie A’s top 10 club. But if they lose, they are looking to an impending downward spiral.

Roma continues to dominate Serie A when it kept a clean sheet against the equally competitive, Napoli. Maintaining a clean slate, the Giallorossi is ready to face Udinese and tighten its grip on the the league’s top spot.
Showing off pure class and outstanding football, Roma kept Napoli at bay. While many were expecting for a draw or at least, a first taste of defeat for the Gialorossi, Miralem Pjanic nailed 2 of the club’s winning goals and walked away triumphantly.

Compared to other league toppers, Roma remains to be the only club that won all of its matches. Not even a shadow of a draw has tainted its record and Rudi Garcia plans to keep it this way.

Despite its evident advantage over Udinese, spectators cannot be too assuming. If there is a significant issue that lingers around Stadio Olimpico, this is the injury suffered by key players such as Gervinho and team captain, Francesco Totti.

Gervinho pulled a hamstring and so is Totti. Such unfortunate event means that the club shall be missing the scoring opportunities delivered by Gervinho and of course, Totti’s leadership. Yet, even if they are sidelined, will it really cause some pain to the club knowing that they have already overcome their toughest rival, Napoli? Perhaps it would not really hurt them. Or maybe, just maybe, the injuries foretell an impending loss.

Football betting tip: Udinese 1-3 Roma

At this point where Roma is closed to being immortal, it will take the mercy of the gods to bring down this superb club.

Lazio vs. Cagliari Match Preview

Match Date: 27 October 2013 (local time)

Venue: Stadio Olimpico

Team Form

Following a disappointing loss to Atalanta, which lead to rumors of Vladimir Petković;s resignation, a tired Lazio still needs to go against Apollon Limassol in the Europa League before they face Cagliari’s fury on weekend.

Will Petković still have enough time to prepare for Cagliari? Losing to Atalanta is already draining. But the pressure does not stop as the club has another match to dominate. This might readily lessen their preparation time and in the unfortunate event where they lose, the loss might readily affect their performance.

On a closer look, Cagliari hardly threatens Lazio. They former is 3 notches below Lazio, which currently sits on the 9th spot of the table. However, as many often believe, anything is possible in football and should they belittle their opponents, Lazio faces the risk of enduring another batch of defeat.

Coming off of a victory over Catania, Cagliari will capitalize on their current momentum to score another triumph when they meet Lazio.
Despite Gonzalo Bergessio’s early goal, Cagliari’s Victor Ibarbo immediately answered an equalizer. He had another opportunity to increase the lead, but he failed to convert a penalty. Fortunately, Mauricio Pinilia pulled off a late winning goal that enabled the club to move higher in the table.

The above-mentioned win is crucial for the Rossoblu. After their 4 consecutive draws, the club was hoping to clinch another victory, but ended up losing against Udinese. Nevertheless, with their recent triumph, the Rossoblu has somehow lessened the pressure brought about by the idea of stumbling over into the relegation zone.

Football betting tip: Lazio 2-1 Cagliari

Despite their tiring matches, Lazio’s better form will enable them to take the edge from Cagliari. They have never lost in 6 of their home matches and there is a high possibility for them to capitalize on this advantage and steal the spotlight from the thriving Cagliari.
