Updated: October 29, 2013

Montpellier vs. Nantes Preview

Match Date: 03 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: La Mosson

Team Form

Unfortunately, for Montpellier, its winning touch ended after the 5-0 thrashing of Lyon. A sudden shift forced them to throw the white towel during the match against Lille and just recently, Bordeaux kept a clean sheet against them and ended the match with a 2-0 victory.

Unable to control the possession, the club did not have too many opportunities to take shots and if they did, these were often off target. Its most recent defeat had a great impact in terms of how the club fares this season. The squad is getting nearer to the relegation zone and unless they do something about it, they face a high chance of being relegated.

Nantes continues to maintain a strong form despite its 1-0 defeat to Lille.

It was a hard-fought battle and too bad for Nantes as they failed to score during the Lille face-off. Nevertheless, this does not eliminate the squad from being one of the top contenders this season. As a matter of fact, it comfortably occupies the 4th spot of Ligue 1 despite the loss.

Perhaps, if there is one thing that made the recent loss frustrating, it was letting the opportunity to be one of the league’s top 3 slip.

Football betting tip: Montpellier 0-2 Nantes

There is the possibility for the match to end in a draw. The last 6 encounters of the two have seen both clubs snatch their own piece of victory, defeat and draws. Nevertheless, if one has to base it on their current league standing, it is evident that it is Nantes, which will be taking the spotlight.

Lille vs. AS Monaco Preview

Match Date: 03 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: Grand Stade Lille Metropole

Team Form

A win over Nantes ensures that Lille retains the 3rd spot in Ligue 1.

Lille has to wait for a while before Nolan Roux fired the winning and only goal of the match. Nevertheless, it was worth the wait as Nantes was unable to seal an equalizer. This also kept Lille’s hopes alive of making it in the top 2. Trailing by just 2 points behind AS Monaco, the club can just be the league’s dark horse.

So far, Lille is undefeated in 6 of its last matches. The result of their current match was their 3rd consecutive win and it looks like the club is determined to overcome the newly promoted, yet strong AS Monaco.

AS Monaco

It is a make or break match for AS Monaco. The match against Lille goes beyond improving one’s rank. Rather, it is their chance to overthrow PSG from the top spot and dominate the league.

AS Monaco is currently tied with PSG. Both clubs are sporting 25 points and it is just a matter of goal difference that separates the two. AS Monaco has a +12 while PSG has +13. Should they lose against Lille, not only will they let go of the chance to stand at the apex of Ligue 1, they will be also force to step down and let Lille take the 2nd spot.

Football betting tip: Lille 1-1 AS Monaco

One can only expect a down the wire match from Lille and AS Monaco. Since both clubs are unwilling to wave the white flag, there is a high possibility for both squads to settle for a draw.
