Inspired by their magnificent performance against Paris Saint Germain, Saint Etienne looks forward to continuing its great form and securing more victories. Meanwhile, the action never stops even in the relegation zone. Ajaccio and Valenciennes will fight tooth and nail to ensure their survival this season. Find out which of these clubs will make it through.

Sochaux vs. Saint Etienne Preview

Match Date: 02 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: Stade Bonal

Team Form

Sochaux

Sochaux’s team form has not been very impressive this season. The squad has only won once, lost its 7 matches and settled for a draw thrice. Already in the relegation arena, Sochaux just lost its recent encounter against Lorient. The former dominated the face-off with 2 goals, while Sochaux has managed to pull off a single shot. They could have forced a draw if their first goal was netted during the earlier phase of the match. However, the shot came several minutes before the final whistle.

Sochaux’s future remains bleak as they are pitted against Saint Etienne. The latter just came from a draw against Paris Saint Germain and like other clubs, are determined to add more points under their belt.

Saint Etienne

Saint Etienne climbed into the 7th spot after forcing Paris Saint Germain to settle for a draw.
Even PSG’s head honcho, Laurent Blanc, was impressed with Saint Etienne’s performance against his boys. They dominated the first half of the match and if not for the late (lucky) rally of PSG, they could have clinched a victory.

Despite the draw, what Saint Etienne did on the pitch was worth the honor and praise. With their strong form, the club looks for another victory to achieve a higher rank in Ligue 1.

Football betting tip: Sochaux 1-3 Saint Etienne

Sochaux has been suffering from a series of defeat and going against Saint Etienne will most likely yield the same result.

Ajaccio vs. Valenciennes Preview

Match Date: 02 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: Stade Francois-Coty

Team Form

Ajaccio

Currently sitting on the 19th spot of Ligue 1, Ajaccio is beset with an opportunity to salvage themselves from the relegation zone and survive this season.

The club’s upcoming match will be against Valenciennes, the squad, which occupies the last spot of the table.

Ajaccio had their chance when they went against Guingamp. Benjamin Andre scored their first goal and it took quite a while before their opponent was able to answer. Unfortunately, Guingam come from behind win saw Claudio Beauvue fired an equalizer on the 86th and Mustalpha Diallo’s header ensured that Guingamp obtains the upper hand.

Ajaccio’s inability to keep their lead should be readily avoided during their face-off against Valenciennes. Despite the latter’s not so flattering form, there is the possibility for them to stun their opponents with successive winning shots as everything is possible in football.

Valenciennes

Valenciennes is in dire need of a victory. Plummeting into the bottom pit of the table, the club is in danger of not playing in the top-flight league next season. Just recently, the club suffered a painful loss to Evian Thonon Gaillard. The 1-point difference was enough to destroy the club’s hopes of snatching a victory.

So far, Valenciennes has only won once, lost 8 of its matches and drew twice. Against Ajaccio, they have the chance to improve their rank. They may not get out of the relegation zone immediately, but it can be a good starting point.

Football betting tip: Ajaccio 2-0 Valenciennes

Both Ajaccio and Valenciennes are suffering from a losing streak. Ajaccio have lost 14 of its 15 last matches while Valenciennes have not been very successful in its last 10 matches. However, the latter’s record of conceding at least 2 goals during their away matches, give Ajaccio the advantage and the possibility of scoring more than a single goal.
