Bayer shall have the chance to overthrow Borussia Dortmund as they go against the league minnows, Braunschweig. Meanwhile, Schalke 04 and Hertha Berlin will try to recover from their previous losses and soon find their way back into the Bundesliga top 5.

Braunschweig vs. Bayer Leverkusen Preview

Match Date: 02 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: Eintracht Stadion

Team Form

Braunschweig

Torsten Lieberknecht “massive tactical challenge” was no match against Mainz 05 as the club suffered yet another round of defeat.

Braunschweig’s losing streak continues to be a major concern for the Lions. This is most especially true when dealing with away matches. Consistency has also transformed into a major concern as the club struggles to convert.

During the match against Mainz 05, the club was able to dominate possession. However, scoring opportunities were wasted as the opponents often stole the ball and use it to their advantage.

Braunschweig now stands at the bottom of the Bundesliga table with W1-D1-L8.

Bayer Leverkusen

Not even Stefan Kießling’s controversial goal can stop Bayer from securing more victories under its belt. Recently, Hoffenheim declined to appeal their “phantom goal” to protest after football officials considered Bayer’s win as valid.  Definitely, the decision creates a dose of inspiration for Sami Hyypiä’s camp, which is eager to snatch its 9th victory for this season.

But Bayer’s success does not end in the domestic league. The club continues to attract more attention in the Champions League as they sit on the 2nd spot of its group, trailing by just a point behind Manchester United.

In terms of injury issues, Stefan Reinartz missed the pitch during the Augsburg encounter. It is still, uncertain if he can make it for the Braunschweig match.

Fortunately, Lars Bender’s condition has already improved. The midfielder has already participated in the training and is expected to return on the pitch during the Braunschweig match. Currently, Bayer stands at W8-D1-L1

Football betting tip: Braunschweig 0-2 Bayer Leverkusen

Definitely, this is going to be Bayer’s match. They have won 13 of their 15 last matches, whereas Braunschweig has been unsuccessful in 8 of its last 10 encounters. With Lars Bender’s return, one can only expect a stronger Bayer.

Hertha Berlin vs. Schalke 04 Preview

Match Date: 02 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: Olympiastadion

Team Form

Hertha Berlin

Hertha Berlin moved down to the 5th spot after suffering defeat from Bayern Munchen and when Borussia Monchengladbach toppled Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Old Lady took an early lead in the Allianz Arena, courtesy of Adrian Ramos. However, the Bavarians, strong hold of possession, coupled with the strong finishes of Mario Mandzukic and Mario Goetze turned the odds into their favor. Nevertheless, the club’s performance earned plaudits as they were able to keep the Bundesliga champion on their toes during the whole encounter. Moreover, Hertha Berlin remains on the top 5 with a record of W4-D3-L3.

Next on Hertha Berlin’s list is Schalke 004. Although they rank better than their opponent does, Jos Luhukay has injury issues to attend.

First is Sebastian Lang Kamp, who is nursing an injured finger.  Johannes van den Bergh is also experiencing a problem in his left thigh after a collision with Mandzukic and lastly, Peter Pekarikl is feared to have injured his shoulder again. But then again, although these are indeed, areas of concerns, Luhukay’s worries are nothing but temporary since all players, after going through medical diagnosis, are fit to face Schalke.

Schalke 04

A double whammy slapped Schalke 04 last week as losses in the domestic and Champions leagues piled up.
The Royal Blues wanted a redemption after suffering a 3-0 defeat from Chelsea. Unfortunately, they also faltered during the awaited Ruhr derby against Borussia Dortmund. In both occasions, Schalke 04 has managed to dominate the possession. But their biggest problems lie in the limited number of shots that they have taken. More often than not, it lead to poor conversion, which their opponents have successfully exploited.

On a brighter side, Schalke remains one of the contenders of their group in the Champions League. As for Bundesliga, they occupy the 7th spot with a record of W4-D2-L4.

Football betting tip: Hertha Berlin 1-1 Schalke 04

A 1-point difference and a goal difference are the only things that separate Hertha Berlin and Schalke 04. Both clubs remain strong despite the losses they have encountered. Due to this, there is a strong likelihood for this match to end in a draw. Schalke 04, however, should be wary as Hertha Berlin are the strongest when they play in their own territory.
