FC Augsburg vs. Mainz 05 Preview

Match Date: 03 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: SGL Arena

Team Form

FC Augsburg

André Hahn’s 24-minute goal against Bayer Leverkusen was impressive, but it was not enough to secure the victory in the match.

Augsburg continues to carry the burden of their disappointing loss to Wolfsburg as they rampage into a series of unsuccessful feats last week. To note, the defeat against Bayer was their 3rd consecutive loss and giving them a not so pleasant record of W3-D1-L6.

What happened with Bayer was the club’s inability to dominate possession. Majority of the match saw the ball in Bayer’s camp, thus, making it easy for them to create scoring opportunities and eventually, convert.

Going against Mainz 05, Augsburg has no other option left but to win or let themselves fall easily into the relegation zone. But this is without the services of Raul Bobadilla. Bobadilla injured his knee again after having an exhibition with the Little Bavarians.

Mainz 05

Mainz 05 just came from an easy victory against the minnows Braunschweig. The club took the opportunity to add another 3 points under its belt and climb to the 11th spot, sporting a record of W4-D1-L5.

The bigger question that Mainz 05 has to face as of the moment is whether they can execute well again now that they are pitted against a much better club. Moreover, how far can they go now that midfielder Niki Zimling is sidelined after incurring a muscle sprain. Although Julian Baumgartlinger’s surgery proved to be successful, the player is still, on its way to recovery and will more likely miss the match against Wolfsburg.

Football betting tip: FC Augsburg 1-2 Mainz 05

Mainz 05 fares better in terms of team form. There is a possibility for them to dominate the match and gain another victory. However, they should keep their defence wall on track as they have a reputation of conceding at least 2 goals during their away matches. FC Augsburg can easily capitalize on this matter as they will be playing in their own ground anyway.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs. VfL Wolfsburg Preview

Match Date: 02 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: Commerzbank-Arena

Team Form

Eintracht Frankfurt

The Eagles have broken their wings. A 4-1 beating from Borussia Monchengladbach ditched them to the 14th spot with an unflattering record of W2-D4-L4.

If not for Stefan Aigner’s 15th minute goal, Borussia Monchengladbach could have easily handed them one of their biggest and worst defeats, It could have been a clean sheet if not for the said goal. The club has been hoping for a better result after being contented with 4 consecutive draws and much to their disappointment, it was a major loss that followed.
Eintracht Frankfurt now find themselves desperate for a win in order to survive. They are still far from the relegation zone. Yet, another loss could already lead them to the danger area and the possibility of missing the action next season.

VfL Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg’s stunning win against Augsburg seemed to have created a winning spell as they trampled over Werder Bremen and leapfrog to the 6th spot of Bundesliga.

Maximilian Arnold and the former Bayern Munchen player, Luiz Gustavo were the heroes of Wolfsburg match against Augsburg. The two scored crucial goals that snatched the victory and humiliated the hosts in their territory. But the Wolves are out on a vicious attack again. This time, they were fiercer and deadlier than ever.

Against Werder Bremen, they did not only secured a win, but also ensured that they have kept a clean sheet. The match ended with a 3-0 victory in their favor and a noteworthy record of W5-D0-L5.

Meanwhile, it looked like Wolfsburg is up for their 3rd consecutive win as they face the struggling Eintracht Frankfurt. Such match is of high significance to the club, not only because of earning more points. They need to win now as their next encounter is pitted against last season’s Champions League runner up, Borussia Dortmund.

Football betting tip: Eintracht Frankfurt  0-1 VfL Wolfsburg

With the Eagles experiencing defeat in 5 of its last matches, it is no surprise to see the Wolves take another big bite of victory.
