Catania vs. Udinese Preview

Match Date: 9 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: Angelo Massimino

Team Form

A defeat from Napoli saw the Rossazzurri slipped down to the 19th spot and therefore, adding more survival problems to the club.

From the 18th spot to the 19th spot, it seems that the season has already ended for Catania. The club has difficulty winning over stronger clubs, except for Chievo and thrives only through draws.

The Rossazzurris have failed to win 11 of their last 12 matches and the result of their recent match was no different from their previous encounters. It was their 2nd consecutive defeat. Although they have kept a clean sheet in 5 of their last 7 matches, it is best if they are able to score goals as well. The defensive strength must also translate to producing more goals to remain in Serie A.

Wary of their lackluster performance, Udinese manager, Francesco Guidolin admitted that their club “deserved to lose.”

Inter’s successful set pieces brought headache to the Udinese club. They converted and at the same time kept a clean sheet. What was even more humiliating was the fact that they are playing at Udinese’s own soil. Moreover, Inter’s victory pushed them to 10th spot, thus facing troubles of being thrown out of the league’s top 10.

Udinese’s current record now stands at W4-D1-L6. (Fortunately), their next match is pitted against the relegation zone regular, Catania where they have a high winning possibility.

Football betting tip: Catania 1-3 Udinese

Udinese needs to work not only on securing victories, but also in addressing their goal difference. They need to monitor their conceded goals as it will be a big problem for them in the future.

Udinese remains as the heavy favorite of the match. Going for the 2.210  is the best pick for this encounter.

Inter vs. Livorno Preview

Match Date: 9 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: Stadio Giuseppe Meazza

Team Form

Inter Milan

Inter Milan retained the 4th spot of the Serie A table after its well-deserved win against Udinese. Currently, the Nerazzurri boasts a W6-D4-L1 record.

Inter’s victory against Udinese was a necessity. Juventus, Napoli and Roma won their matches and losing meant that they are in trouble of leaving the top 5. It means creating more opportunities for other clubs below them to take their place.

The Nerazzurri’s past performances were plain satisfactory. Roma kept them at bay with a 3-0 victory while other mid-table clubs such as Atalanta, Torino and Cagliari forced them to settle for a draw. However, the victory over Udinese proved that they are gradually returning to their top form. Against Livorno, their chances of climbing Serie A’s ladder increase. They have not lost in 10 of their last 11 home matches. Moreover, 3 of them witnessed the club scored at least 2 goals. Expect them to capitalize on such advantage in order to protect their spot throughout the season.

A narrow win against Atalanta helped Livorno climbed a notch higher in the Serie A table. The Amarantos are up in the 14th spot.

Livorno has been struggling in their last 6 matches. They suffered 4 losses in a row. But gradually, they were able to recover from their defeat. It started with a 3-3 stalemate against Torino and recently, the win against Atalanta. But will they fare well against Inter Milan?

In terms of team form and the home court advantage, there is a high possibility that Inter Milan shall win. But then again, Livorno is also determined to continue its winning streak. Sure, they have a chance to steal the moment, however, a more realistic approach shows that a draw is the best that they can come up with as of the moment.

Football betting tip: Inter 2-1 Livorno

Definitely, Inter shall capitalize in their home court advantage. Yet, on the issue on whether they can keep a clean sheet, that is also possible, but one should not disregard the possibility of Livorno to score a goal. Under this context, a recommended be 2.25 in Inter’s favor.
