Genoa vs. Hellas Verona Preview

Match Date: 10 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: Luigi Ferraris

Team Form

Genoa shocked Serie A when it kept Lazio at bay and scored their 2nd straight victory. The performance resulted in a major upsurge that lifted the Rossoblu from the 13th spot to the 8th spot of the league’s ranking.

What was initially thought as a total giveaway to Lazio turned out to be the club’s waterloo. A goal from Juraj Kucka on the 60th and with Alberto Gilardino converting a penalty, Genoa became an immediate star last week.

Genoa just received a beating from Napoli and Juventus prior to the Lazio face-off. These could have challenged the club to push their limits and true enough, they gained their 2nd straight win. Its current record now stands at W4-D2-L5 and has already accumulated a total of 14 points.

It was a crucial victory for the Rossublu for it could be a great source of inspiration when they face Hellas Verona. The momentum is expected to be more manifested and expressed since they will be playing in their own ground and would want to deliver its 3rd consecutive win for its loyal supporters.

Hellas Verona

After securing its 6th straight home victory, Hellas Verona is keen on climbing to the top 3 of Italy’s top-flight league.
With a score of 2-1 in Hellas Verona’s favor proved how spectacular they are when playing in their territory. While it is true that it hardly helped the Gialloblu climbed a notch higher, it enabled them to level with Inter and develop an impressive reputation.

Verona has been successful in 5 of their last 6 matches and they will more likely to add scores under their belt. Despite having a better rank against Genoa, the club cannot afford to be overconfident. Their 6th straight win was recorded in their own ground and they have yet to prove that they can also produce great results when playing outside of their comfort zone.

Football betting tip: Genoa 1-2 Hellas Verona

The Gialloblu has only won once in their last 6 encounters against the Rossublu. Yet, it does not immediately translate to Hellas Verona’s advantage. Similarly, Genoa cannot undermine their upcoming opponent as they have a better form and higher rank. Expect the match to draw the crowd. But at the end of the day, it is the newly promoted, Hellas Verona, which has a higher possibility of taking the limelight.

Parma vs. Lazio Preview

Match Date: 10 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: Ennio Tardini

Team Form

Parma dropped to the 13th spot as they failed to defeat the last season champion, Juventus.

The Crusaders missed the opportunity to make it to the top 10— a spot that majority of Serie A contenders wish for. It was their 2nd straight loss and they are in danger of slipping further in the ranking in the same way that Lazio faces the risk of being kicked out of the 7th spot.

Compared to Lazio, Parma’s form is slightly better as they have won twice in their last 6 matches. However, losses tend to dominate their current form. Since they upcoming match shall be held in their own soil, they can readily capitalize on this opportunity to improve their chances of attaining a better and higher rank.

Lazio was unable to make it to Serie A’s top 5 after suffering a stunning defeat from Genoa.

The Biancocelesti has to work on their performance. Lately, the club struggles to secure victories in their last 6 matches. They were only successful during the Cagliari encounter where they scored 2 goals and kept a clean sheet. Two (2) of them ended in losses while the remaining three (3) were draws. Overall, it was because of the draws that Lazio has managed to retain the 7th spot of the Serie A table.

Football betting tip: Parma 2-1 Lazio

Lazio are having troubles with their away matches as shown in the AC Milan, Atalanta and Sassuolo matches. Although they did not lose, these encounters ended in a draw. Under this context, the club manifests a high possibility of ending in a draw. But since Parma has a better form, they might also go home defeated.
