And so the Gunners were down and out in Old Trafford—thanks to the scoring effort of an ex-Gunner, Robin Van Persie.

Van Persie’s 27th minute goal was all that Manchester United to secure another feather in their cap. As for Arsenal, it was their second lost this season. Despite remaining on top of the Premier League and considering that they have more wins than losses, many cannot help but question their ability to win the title. Arsenal have quite developed a reputation of starting strong, but unable to make a decisive finish,

Somehow, the doubts have their merit. After the Manchester United squabble, the club is pitted against yet another strong club, Southampton. In the Champions League, they need to overcome the attacks of the resilient Marseille.

Arsenal still has a couple of weeks left before they face Southampton—the biggest question is, how consistent can they get?

Moving up to the 3rd spot is Southampton. The club outranked Chelsea after thrashing Chelsea with 4 goals to 1.

It looked like the Saints never took the Stoke City stalemate lightly. It tainted their outstanding defence, forcing them to concede their second goal since September and what is even more frustrating is that the touch of strong wind pushed the ball inside their net. They managed to score an equalizer though. Nevertheless, it was barely enough to secure their spot in the top 3. As a matter of fact, it was still uncertain if they could make it, until West Bromwich Albion forced Chelsea to settle for a draw.

On the brighter side of things, Southampton still, fares well this season. Indeed, they can be the emerging dark horses of the competition. Certainly, they will never want an easy and strong finish for its opponents.

Football betting tip: Arsenal 2-1 Southampton

The last thing that Arsenal wants is to have a problem in the domestic league—not when they are still, to make their revenge in the Champions League. Southampton, on the other hand, also feels the same. But perhaps, it will be Arsenal’s better form that they will help them  prevail in this encounter.

Everton vs. Liverpool Preview

Match Date: 23 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: Goodison Park

Team Form

Crystal Palace held Everton to a goalless standoff that forced the latter to get stuck in the 6th spot of the Premier League after last week’s round of encounters.

The pressure is high on Roberto Martinez. Everton’s top cat has to endure its 2nd consecutive draw at the hands of the rock-bottom Crystal Palace. Such result forces them to ensure a triumph against Liverpool at home or they might just slipped down in the Premier League ranking.

Everton, though, has a (minor) concern to address and this is the absence of his key players to perform their international duties. Players such as Romelu Lukaku, Seamus Coleman, James McCarthy and more, will spend more time training for their national squads. Martinez could only hope that all of them return in one piece.

Everton was able to keep a clean sheet in 3 of their most recent matches in the Premier League. They also manifest an indomitable strength when playing at home as they remained unbeaten in 14 of their last home matches.

Luis Suárez’s double catapulted Liverpool’s after scoring 2 consecutive goals in a showdown against Fulham.

Suárez just proved how instrumental he is in the Liverpool camp after scoring their  3rd and final goals. His return from the 10-match ban was one of the highly anticipated moments by his supporters and Liverpool fanatics as he is consistently, one of the club’s goal scoring machines.

Liverpool has been a consistent performer throughout this season. As a matter of fact, they had their stint of the tournament’s top spot until Arsenal snatched it from them.

Football - FA Premier League - Liverpool FC v Fulham FC

So far, the Reds have been successful in 17 of their last 19 matches. In addition, 5 of their last 6 matches have ended with more than 2 goals scored.

Football betting tip: Everton 1-1 Liverpool

Expect goals to pour like rain. However, given the impressive performance of the two during the last 6 matches, there is a strong likelihood for the match to end in a draw.
