Cardiff City v Swansea City - Premier League

A heated match is about to take place between Arsenal and Manchester United as both clubs are hungry for a win. The same thing is true for Swansea City and Stoke City. The two look for an opportunity to redeem themselves after their lackluster performance.

Swansea City vs. Stoke City Preview

Match Date: 10 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: Liberty Stadium

Team Form

Swansea City

The Swans stumbled down to the 13th spot after a disappointing loss in the South Wales derby. Their current record now stands at W3-D2-L5.

Manager Michael Laudrup and team captain, Ashley Williams both expressed their frustration over their recent defeat.  Laudrup lamented on how the club has successfully controlled the first half but ended up losing in a match that they really want to win. On the other hand, Williams started questioning his teammates’ “desire” Cardiff’s narrow victory.

Lately, the Swans have been struggling to secure a victory. Two (2) successive defeats immediately followed their success against Crystal Palace. Although they have managed to thrash  Sunderland with a 4-0 victory, West Ham forced them to settle for a draw. If they only gained the upper hand against Stoke, they could have jumped into the table’s top 10. Unfortunately, this did not materialize. They have the chance to avenge their defeat against Stoke City, yet their current form saw them lose in 9 of their last 10 matches.

Stoke City

Asmir Begovic’s “extraordinary” goal forced Southampton to settle for a draw. However, this did not prevent the club from slipping into the 17th spot.

Stoke’s lackluster performance and weak team form, explain why the draw did not yield any movement in their current rank. With a record of W2-D3-L5, the Potters are unable to pull out a single victory in their last 6 matches. Majority of them were dominated by losses and draws served as their only consolation.

The Stoke are still safe from the relegation zone. However, they are in dire need of a victory as a defeat could eventually pushed them at the bottom of the table.

Football betting tip: Swansea City 2-1 Stoke City

Swansea yields a 0.5-1 Asian handicap to Stoke City as they are the match’s heavy favorite. Betting on a 2.29 proves to be a reasonable and profitable pick in this upcoming encounter.

Manchester United vs. Arsenal Preview

Match Date: 10 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: Old Trafford

Team Form

Manchester United

After suffering 2 consecutive losses in 2 of their last 6 matches, Manchester United have shown some improvements in its current form. A win against Fulham marked their 2nd successive victory where they earned another 3 points. However, no rank movement can be expected from the Red Devils as they remained in the 8th spot.
The season is not yet over and despite their disappointing losses in the beginning, Manchester United has slowly lived up to the expectations and if they remain consistent, they can readily defend their title.
David Moyes expressed that he has been seeing leadership potential from Wayne Rooney and was one of the key figures in the win against Fulham. Should this kind of performance continue, there is no doubt that Manchester United can easily leave the mid table. Adding more attacking prowess to the club is the 18-year old Adnan Januzaj, who is set to fulfill the number 10 role in the future.

Prior to the match against Arsenal, the club is set to meet Real Sociedad in the Champions League.

Arsenal

The Gunners have maintained their strong hold of the Premier League’s top spot after keeping Liverpool at bay. Much to the disappointment of Jose Mourinho, the club has also sealed a buffer that will keep league contenders struggling in the title race.

Arsenal has been unbeaten since their Aston Villa mishap during the opening. Their succeeding matches ended in a victory and it took them quite some time before they were forced to settle for a draw.

Like Manchester United, Arsenal also have Champions League duties to perform. Included in the so-called “group of death,” their next match is pitted against the last season’s runner-up, Borussia Dortmund.

Football betting tip: Manchester United 1-1 Arsenal

Fatigue will be one of the challenges that both clubs will confront. Likewise, both have shown equal strength. Expect a down the wire match that is best concluded with a draw.
