Liverpool vs. Fulham Albion Preview

Match Date: 9 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: Anfield

Team Form

Sporting a W6-D2-L2 record, the Reds just came off with a 2-0 defeat from Arsenal. It was the 2nd loss of the club this season.

Coming out strong and even dominating the Premier League table for quite some time, Liverpool is already overtaken by Chelsea. Although their difference only lies in the goal difference, its recent loss manifested their inconsistency and their evident slow-down in their last 6 matches.

They suffered a 1-0 defeat to Southampton, but they are quick to react when they trampled over minnows Sunderland and Crystal Palace. Newcastle United forced them to settle for a stalemate with 2 goals apiece, yet they bounced back when they thrashed West Bromwich Albion. Such scenario cannot help but raise questions to Liverpool’s ability to compete with stronger clubs. Nevertheless, if there is any assurance that they are still, one of the season’s title contenders, this is the fact that they occupy the 3rd spot in the table.

Fulham dropped 2 notches below the Premier League table after suffering a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United. From the 14th spot, the club went down to the 16th spot with a W2-D4-L4 record. Nevertheless, Martin Jol is confident of the management’s support despite the loss.

Once again, Fulham is on the verge of avoiding the relegation zone. The club has been showing significant improvements after a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Cardiff, but unfortunately, they are unable to maintain their 2 consecutive winning streak. Jol’s problem seems to get even worse as their upcoming match is pitted against Liverpool, which, like them, is also hungry for a win.

Football betting tip: Liverpool 2-1 Fulham

Considering Liverpool’s strength, it is easy to see that they are the match’s heavy favorite. Going for a 2.29  bet guarantees a hefty price.

Norwich vs. West Ham United Preview

Match Date: 09 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: Carrow Road

Team Form

Norwich received a severe beating from Manchester City after succumbing to a 7-0 defeat in their opponent’s favor. The club continues to linger in the relegation zone, occupying the 18th spot with a W2-D2-L6 record.

The Canaries are in dire need of an immediate remedy. The thrashing was simply too much to bear. It exposed not only their scoring drought but also a poor defence that resulted to 3 goals  long before the first half ended. Bradley Johnson’s own goal, which seemingly triggered Norwich’s series of unfortunate event also meant that individual errors is one of the pressing factors that lead to their defeat.

Norwich’s lackluster performance against Manchester City was not their first. Apparently, they have been unsuccessful during the half time and full time in 5 of their last 7 matches.

West Ham United

Like Norwich, West Ham did not move in the 15th spot. The scoreless draw against Aston Villa can only help them avoid the relegation zone temporarily. After the stalemate, West Ham’s current record is now pegged at W2-D4-L4.

Victories not draws are what West Ham United need in order to climb higher in the Premier League table. They did well in the Tottenham encounter where they thrashed the latter with 3 goals to nil. However, they are unable to maintain their momentum and eventually ended losing against Manchester City.

West Ham is just 2 notches away from spiraling into the league’s bottom three. They can no longer afford to suffer yet another defeat. The club has already lost 9 of its 10 last away matches and it was unable to score in 5 of its last 6 matches. They need to man up the pitch or they might find themselves in trouble.

Football betting tip: Norwich 1-1 West Ham United

Technically, both clubs are eyeing to avoid the relegation arena. Neither of the two will throw the white towel immediately. It is of this context that a draw will most likely to be the result of this match.
