Match Preview: AC Milan vs. Cagliari

Updated: August 28, 2013

Match Date: 01 September 2013 (local time)

Venue: Stadio Giuseppe Meazza

Defeat and disappointment almost bogged down AC Milan. Nevertheless, this will not prevent them from clinching their first win.

Rossublu made a strong start this season. The club kicked-off with a stunning victory against Atalanta to signal their strong campaign.

It was a come from behind win. Atalanta dominated the pitch, not until goals from Radja Nainggolan and Matias Cabrera stole the spotlight.

After spending some time at the bottom half of Serie A, the Rossublus are hopeful to have a repeat of their most recent triumph.

There have been news about the impending transfer of Davide Astori, but the Cagliari camp denied such reports.

AC Milan

AC Milan’s recent feats are rather disappointing.

First, they welcomed the new season with a defeat against Verona. They tried to redeem themselves during the PSV Eindhoven match, but to no avail. Although they never lost, their archrival scored an equalizer that leveled their chances of entering into UEFA’s group stage.

The Rossoneris have another chance to make up for their losses as they go for the second leg of the UEFA qualifiers. However, will they still have enough energy to battle it out against Cagliari?

Football betting tip: AC Milan savors its first win

Despite the shortcomings, the Rossoneris remains as heavy favorites in the match.
The club will most likely capitalize on their home court advantage. To note, the Rossoneri won their last 12 home matches. Cagliari, on the other hand, lost in 6 of their away encounters.

Along with that, there is the possibility for AC Milan to dominate the possession and take more shots.

As for the Cagliari side, there is a high likelihood for them to dominate in the air. Cagliari might also have a come from behind rally just like what they did to Atalanta. Nevertheless, this barely bothers the Rossoneris.

During their last 6 matches, AC Milan had the upper-hand. A draw was the nearest and most competitive result that Cagliari has against the Rossoneri. Given this aspect at hand, the odds of winning remain high for the AC Milan side.
