Ligue 1 Preview: Nice vs. Metz

Updated: September 9, 2014
OGC Nice

Match Date: 13 September 2014 (local time)

Venue: Allianz Riviera

The newly-promoted Metz has finally put an end to its winless streak when it scored its first 3 points against the online betting favorite, Lyon. Prior before the said victory, the club’s survival solely depended on stalemates, which are apparently not enough to move them away from the relegation zone. With the victory, not only did the club earned precious points, it has propelled their rank in the top-flight league’s table.

Powered by a renewed confidence, Metz may just seal another crucial win against Nice.

The contenders

Nice was left in tatters during its encounter against Marseille. The latter totally kept them at bay and scored 4 major goals.
Despite attempts of recovering or at the very least, lessening the shame of being thrashed, Nice remained unsuccessful as Marseille refused to wave the white flag.

Metz did an impressive job of not breaking during a high-pressured game. Alexandre Lacazette gave Lyon an early lead, but thanks to Yeni N’Gbakoto and Juan Manuel Falcon, the squad was able to turn the odds in Metz’ favor.

Possible head turners

Kevin Lejeune will definitely be a key player for Metz. Expect the prolific midfielder to set up and create scoring opportunities for the squad.

Although Nice is chosen as a strong favorite, one cannot ignore the possibility that Metz can pull off a stunner. Nice is valued to win at 2.28. However, going for Metz which is valued at 3.20 or a draw that has a 3.08 odd is not that bad.

Metz 1-1 Nice.
