Updated: October 23, 2014

Match Date: 26 October 2014 (local time)

Venue: Grand Stade Lille Metropole

Time will be Lille’s biggest opponent when they face Rennes this weekend. The club will have to face Everton in the Europa League and emerge in another face-off that will put a test to their club’s strength and endurance.

The contenders

Lille will have little time to prepare in their upcoming match against Rennes. Although they are the online betting favorite, they cannot guarantee an immediate victory considering the fact that they may suffer from fatigue.

Just recently, the club suffered a stunner after a bold and brave Guingamp stole the spotlight from them. Due to this, Lille dropped to the 8th spot of the Ligue 1 table. They need to be more clinical when they go against Rennes for them to avoid repeating the mistakes that they had against Guingamp.

Rennes made an upward move into the 7th spot of the league table after a scoreless stalemate with the newly promoted squad, Metz. The team can use such success to inspire them in seeking another triumphant stint in their upcoming match.

Rennes even steven finish can be seen on a positive note despite being shortchanged by two (2) points. The club just came off a three (3) consecutive losing streak. It snatched a win against Lens before the above-mentioned draw.

Possible head turners

Lille’s trusted defender, Rio Mavuba stood out during the clash against Guingamp. Through him, the squad was able to dominate possession and if not for the missed chances, Lille could have snatched the coveted victory.
