Match Date: 30 August 2014 (local time)

Venue : La Beaujoire-Louis Fonteneau

A narrow defeat to AS Monaco prevented Nantes from scoring 3 points. But with the upcoming match to be held at home, the squad’s winning chances can readily increase.

The contenders

FC Nantes

Nantes lost another chance to clinch 3  points after a narrow defeat to AS Monaco. During the said match, Nantes had plenty of opportunities to score a goal, most especially when they were given the penalty kick. But Les Canaries missed such chance. In the end, it was the striker, Radamel Falcao, who put an end to the close match.

Nantes made a strong start this season when it won its first match. However, it seemed that their confidence was shaken when FC Metz forced them to settle for an even steven finish.

Montpellier Hérault SC

Morgan Sanson just led Montpellier to a well-deserved victory against FC Metz. A cross pass during the dying minutes of the match opened a scoring opportunity for Soulemane Camara, which he successfully converted.

Montpellier welcomed the season with a disappointing defeat. However, the squad readily shows signs of wanting to make a grand comeback. It cannot be denied that Montpellier is indeed, back to its winning ways.

Possible head turners

Camara has been pretty aggressive in taking scoring chances during the previous match. Against Nantes, expect him to call the shots. And with Sanson around, Montpellier should be able to keep the ball to their side.

Alejandro Bedoya was not seen in Nantes’ scoring list during the last match. Due to this, one can only expect him to feature in their upcoming match.

What the odds say

It should be easy for Nantes to impress considering the fact that they are playing in their own territory. In the sports betting site, 12BET, the squad is deemed favorite and valued to win at profitable odds of 2.26.
