Toulouse and Sochaux

Match Date: 12 April 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stade Bonal

Similar to AC Ajaccio, Sochaux will simply play for honor in its upcoming match against Toulouse.  Les Lionceaux has already hit the rock bottom pit of Ligue 1 and with just a few matches left, the squad is bound to lose its top-flight league status.

Meanwhile, the duel could be a great opportunity for Toulouse to score more points and end the season with a stronger finish.

It is a bit disappointing that Sochaux’s outstanding performances came a little bit late. Several improvements can be seen in the results of the squad’s last matches. It outlasted Lorient and Bordeaux, whilst it was able to force a draw against Marseille and Bastia. Such improvements did not go unnoticed as certain sports betting sites such as 12BET even made it as the match’s favorite.
Sochaux has been undefeated in its last 5 home matches and this record therefore, increases the possibility of an upset in the match.

However, it cannot be denied that Toulouse is a club that does not easily throw the white towel.  It also presents an impressive form that is characterized by maintaining an undefeated stance in 5 of its last 6 encounters.

Toulouse’s away form is also in a superb condition and they can use it to counter Sochaux’s home court advantage. To note, Toulouse has been undefeated in its last 8 away matches and this might give Sochaux a major headache.

Prediction: Draw

For the last time, expect Sochaux to try to make an impression in Ligue 1. But that is also what Toulouse wants to happen. Other than the idea of Sochaux winning over Toulouse, perhaps, the more plausible result in this particular match is a draw.
