Sochaux

Match Date: 10 May 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stade dele Route–de-Lorient

There is still a high possibility for Sochaux to retain its Ligue 1 status. The stunning victory against Nice and Evian’s 3rd consecutive defeat heavily contribute to the squad’s probability of remaining in France’s top-flight league.

With 2 more matches left and a maximum of 6 points to earn, not only is it possible for Sochaux to survive, it also manifests the strong likelihood of bouncing into the mid-table. The Les Lionceaux, despite its (pitiful) situation of hanging around in the relegation zone is not out of the game yet.

A closer examination of its present team form shows that it has returned to its winning ways. The determination is so evident that the squad has been undefeated during its last 6 matches. Therefore, it is not so surprising to see the club as the top pick of  sports betting sites.

Rennes’ team form is not too far from that of Sochaux. It has also maintained a series of impressive performances. However, a narrow defeat to Monaco tainted and out a stop to its clean record.
Rennes is aware that it only needs a victory to equalize with Toulouse and enter the top 10. And since there are only 2 matches left before the season ends, going against Sochaux and clinching a victory is the perfect opportunity to penetrate Ligue 1’s elite. It has all the inspiration and motivation to do so. They just nailed a crucial win against Paris Saint Germain, thus, there is no reason for them to falter against Sochaux.
Expect a down the wire match between the two, with Sochaux gaining the upper-hand or Rennes, forcing a draw.

Prediction:  Sochaux or draw
