Match Date: 13 April 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stade de Gerland

Lyon and Paris Saint Germain (PSG)  will be battling against fatigue as the two clash in France’s top-flight league. The match is definitely a test of both mental and physical strengths. Get ready as this encounter foresees a survival battle that is fiercer than the face-off of clubs struggling at the bottom of the Ligue 1 table.

Prior to the match, Les Gones will have to face Juventus for the 2nd leg of the Europa League quarter-finals. Its Italian opponent is ahead by a point and hopefully, Lyon can bounce back. In the domestic league, Lyon trails behind Saint Etienne by 4 points. With 5 more matches left, the squad ambitions to land another qualifying spot in the Europa League, thus, highlighting the importance of the PSG match.

If the Europa League keeps Lyon busy, PSG’s attention is directed towards the Champions League.

Laurent Blanc and his men will have to face Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea in a bid to enter the tournament’s semi-finals.

The Parisians have the lead in the 2-legged playoffs. However, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s absence, expect a major change in the club’s attacking strategy. Expect Edinson Cavani to feature and help the online betting favorite snatch a win.

In as far as their Ligue 1 title bid is concerned, PSG remains a vulnerable target of AS Monaco. As of the moment, its 7-point lead is still, technically, manageable. PSG cannot afford to commit even the slightest mistake or AS Monaco might take advantage of such opportunity.

Prediction:  Paris Saint Germain

Undefeated in its last 8 matches, while keeping a clean sheet in 6 of them, it is not so surprising to see why PSG is the encounter’s top pick.
